Specifically, the PPA is engaged in planning, designing and spatial consulting in the country and the region with aspirations to expand its activities to the countries outside the region. Spatial planning represents action toward a future that public sector uses in order to influence the distribution of activities and people in the area. Spatial planning includes all levels of land use planning including urban planning, spatial and environmental planning, national spatial plans, and in the European Union includes the international level planning.
PPA is developing planning documents - regulation, urban and spatial plans which also include SEA. The main objective of these plans is to improve the quality of life through organisation, planning and usage of land while respecting the principles of sustainable development. Particular emphasis here is on urban planning that deals with the organization, regulation and use of urban or metropolitan areas, as well as physical, economic, social and environmental development of the area. Indispensable part of the planning on all levels is planning of the municipal infrastructure in the field of traffic, hydro, electric, telecommunications and thermal energy. In this sense the other organisational units from IPSA Institute support PPA.
Design represents an elaborate detailed system of activities directed towards the future, dealing with the problem of space organization and defining all elements of its shape.
